PGCB to hold public input hearing

The regulator will host the hearing to collect testimony on the Category 4 casino submitted by Penn National.

US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has announced on Tuesday that it will hold a public input hearing on November 1 in the Springettsbury Township Municipal Administration Building to collect testimony on the Category 4 casino application submitted by Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association, LLC (Penn National).

The regulator said that the purpose of the hearing is to provide a forum for people to voice their support or opposition to the proposed casino and to allow those with an interest in the applicant’s proposal to learn more about the project. The Board also announced that it has begun accepting requests from citizens, public officials and community groups who wish to provide oral or written testimony regarding the proposed casino. Those interested in presenting testimony at the public input hearing must register prior to the hearing by visiting the Board’s website.

The deadline for registration to speak is October 30, and a listing of all government officials, community groups and individuals who have registered to speak will be posted on the Board’s web site one week prior to the hearing.

The PGCB said that all information gathered during these proceedings will be included in the record upon which the Board will grant or deny a licence. Moreover, a separate public hearing will be held at a later date where Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association representatives will give their arguments and board will be able to ask additional questions before deciding if the licence will be granted or not.
