PGCB to publish list of towns against expansion

The local regulator will begin publishing a list of the towns that are against mini-casinos.

US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board revealed that it will start publishing on Monday an opt-put list on its website, which consists of municipalities that don’t want to host one of the 10 mini-casinos legalised by the latest gambling expansion signed by the Governor.

Spokesman Doug Harbach said that only the Kennett Township, Chester County, supervisors told them that they voted to ban mini casinos, even if under the new law signed by Tom Wold municipalities have time until December 31 to pass a resolution opting out of the slot parlors and sending an ordinance to the state, local media reported. Nevertheless, the resolution can be erased with an other public vote.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is set to hold the first blind auction for one of the casino licenses on January 16. The minimum bid is set on US$7.5 million and only local casino owners can submit their offers.
