PGCB approves fines

The Pennsylvanian regulator PGCB has approved a fine of US$60k for underage gambling against Sugarhouse HSP Gaming.

US.- Sugarhouse HSP Gaming, L.P., operator of Rivers Casino Philadelphia, has received a fine of US$60k from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) for underage gaming violations.

The fines were the result of Board approvals at its public meeting of consent agreements between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel and Sugarhouse HSP Gaming, L.P. following numerous incidents in which individuals under the age of 21 accessed the gaming floor.

The regulator said that a 20-year-old woman accessed the gaming floor on four separate days and wagered at slot machines, table games and was also served alcohol. Other two 20-year old males accessed the gaming floor and wagered.

Pennsylvania regulator awards new casino licence

The PGCB voted unanimously on Wednesday to award a licence to Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association, LLC (Penn National) to build a Category 4 casino in Springettsbury Township, York County.

The process to award the licence kicked off on January 12, 2018, when Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association secured a 15-mile radius area in which it could locate a casino with a winning bid of US$50 million. This happened at the first Category 4 auction held by the PGCB.

The Board conducted an in-depth background investigation of the application along with the collection of public input from citizens, community groups and public officials at a hearing held in Springettsbury Township on October 1, 2018.
