Pennsylvania online gambling bill was postponed
The online gambling proposal approved by the Pennsylvania House will not be passed until at least the autumn as it was left out of the state’s spending bill.
US.- Back in June, the Pennsylvania House passed an online gambling proposal, which would introduce a 16 percent tax on revenue. However, the measure has stalled in the Senate amid the budget negotiations.
The US$28 billion budget was signed by Governor Tom Wolf at the beginning of the week, but a fiscal plan to pay for its provisions has not yet been agreed and the online gambling bill got caught in the middle.
The Pennsylvania House approved the online gambling proposal which would introduce a 16 percent tax on revenue in June, but it has stalled so far in the Senate amid the budget negotiations.
It has been estimated that an online gambling market in Pennsylvania could generate revenues that would add about 10 percent to Pennsylvania’s existing casino gambling market.
