PAGCOR sets new monitoring system
The new PAGCOR system is pushing for further gambling monitoring and is set to be a “third party audit service.”
Philippines.- The Philippine regulator, PAGCOR, wants a stricter online gambling monitoring system and is set to be a “third party audit service” designed to promote transparency for Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) licensees and their revenue reports.
Andrea Domingo, PAGCOR’s chairwoman, said she’s optimistic that the new system will ensure the quality of the services that POGO firms offer foreigners. “It is important to note that the audit service provider will not get paid if their service does not yield increases in revenues,” she said and commented that the new setup will be integrated by March.
The new system will be able to detect and “lock out” POGO operators that are not following operating procedures. Ms Domingo explained that there are illegal gambling operators who deceive gamblers, disappearing to avoid paying winnings to bettors.
“The foreign bettors will be more confident of getting fair play with this system, and they know that that they will be protected against fraud,” Domingo explained, adding that the government will be able to get a decent cut of the online gambling business through these changes.
