Online gaming boosts Delta Corp’s revenue

The Indian operator experienced a significant rise during the second quarter thanks to its online gaming operations.

India.- Indian casino operator Delta Corp revealed that its second quarter operations experienced a revenue rise because of its online gaming operations. The land-based casino gaming revenue increased 17.2 percent to US$22.3 million when compared to the same period in 2016.

Moreover, hospitality and other revenues also increased significantly with a 19.4 percent to US$2.9 million. Delta released a statement in which it described that its initiative to emerge in the online gaming business helped the company strengthen the leadership position in the gaming and hospitality industry.

Delta acquired the online gaming operations of Gauss Networks Pvt Ltd, which operated india’s largest online poker site in July, and the division contributed revenue os US$3.7 million in fiscal second quarter.

Hardik Dhebar, chief financial officer of Delta Corp, said that the online division gives them the potential to grow but also provides stability to the cash flows. Furthermore, chairman Jaydev Mody said that the new policy in Goa, the city where Delta operates three floating casinos and one land-based facility, is expected to bring positive changes to the industry and Delta.
