Joseph Addabbo has introduced a new bill seeking to let the state’s racetracks and stadiums participate in the state’s mobile betting market.

US.- state senator Joseph Addabbo has introduced a bill that seeks to expand the future mobile betting market in New York to the state’s racetracks and stadiums. Chair of the Senate Committee on Racing, Gaming, and Wagering, he has filed Senate Bill S7536 which would allow thoroughbred and harness racetracks to hosts mobile wagering operators.

Mobile betting is included in New York’s 2022 budget and the New York State Gaming Commission (NYGC) has chosen nine casino and online gaming operators. Under With Addabbo’s bill, which will be discussed in the January session, stadiums and professional sports arenas, as well as off-track betting parlours, would be able to be affiliates. Additionally, the VLT operator at Queens’ Aqueduct Racecourse could host kiosks.

Having been formally introduced on November 19, the bill is currently with the New York Senate Rules Committee.
