North Carolina sports betting handle rises year-over-year in April

The handle increased 6.3 per cent from the same period in 2025.

US.- The North Carolina State Lottery Commission has released its sports wagering revenue report for April. The state’s eight licensed interactive sports wagering operators posted a handle of $612.5m, up 6.3 per cent year-over-year but down from $726.2m in March 2026.

According to the report, gross wagering revenue was $64.5m, up from $46.8m in the same month in 2025. Estimated tax proceeds were $11.6m and winnings $544.5m.

For the fiscal year to date, from July 2025 to April 2026, wagering revenue was $6.4bn, and gross wagering revenue totalled $675m. Taxes were $121.5m. Mobile sports wagering launched in the state in March 2024.
