Nine casinos petition for online gambling in PA

A total of nine facilities have petitioned with the state regulator for a licence to offer online gambling.

US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) reported on Tuesday that a total of nine casinos in the state have petitioned to conduct online gambling under their brands. The casino licence holders will net US$90 million in licensing fees for the state government.

As the PGCB revealed, all the petitions received are requesting approval to conduct: Non-Peer-to-Peer interactive games which simulate slot machines; Non-Peer-to-Peer interactive games which simulate table games; and Peer-to-Peer interactive games which simulate poker.

Operators of Parx Casino, Live! Hotel and Casino Philadelphia, Mount Airy Casino Resort, Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, Valley Forge Casino Resort, Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack, Rivers Casino and SugarHouse Casino all petitioned for a licence to operate online gambling.

The PGCB now has 90 days to approve or deny the petitions from the casinos. Meanwhile, the regulator is also in the process of reviewing applications from game writers and operators that will run said games at the casinos.
