New York online sports betting wagering handle reaches $2.44bn in January
GGR increased 1.4 per cent year-on-year.
US.- New York’s online sports betting gross gaming revenue (GGR) was $259.7m in January. That’s a decrease of 3.5 per cent sequentially but a rise of 1.4 per cent when compared to January 2025.
According to the New York State Gaming Commission, the online sports betting handle totalled $2.4 bn, an increase of 2.6 per cent sequentially but a decrease of 1.5 per cent in year-on-year terms. It was the sixth consecutive month that the state surpassed $2bn in bets. Sportsbooks saw a monthly hold of 10.9 per cent and contributed $127.8m in tax revenue to the state’s education fund.
FanDuel maintained market leadership with $113.7m in revenue from a $875.3m handle. DraftKings followed with $79.7m in revenue and a $818.3m handle, while Fanatics reported $21.5m from $223.3m and Caesars $11.5m from $160.7m.
Through fiscal-year-to-date (from April 2025 to January 2026), the sports betting handle was $21.8bn, and GGR $2.2bn.
