Hampton zoning board votes to allow charitable gaming expansion at New Hampshire casino

The board voted 4-1 to approve the expansion at the Aces and Eights Casino.

US.- The Hampton Zoning Board of Adjustment has voted 4-1 to approve the expansion of the charitable gaming room at the Aces and Eights Casino, on Hampton Beach, New Hampshire.

Charitable gaming currently operates on the building’s first floor, but a special exception granted by the board will allow more than double the space, increasing the gaming area from about 8,000 square feet to 31,000 square feet.

Board chairwoman Erica De Vries had expressed reservations saying: “People have gambling problems, and when you increase something from small kind of a quaint gambling facility to something that is three times as large, it is going to attract different clientele.”
