Nevada would update gaming laws
The casino state of the US is reviewing its gaming laws on April 19th.
US.- The State of Nevada – host of major casino city in the USA: Las Vegas – will review its current gaming regulations approved by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. During a Gaming Commission meeting on April 19th, the state’s regulator will review several regulations that have been already approved.
The new regulations would be related to alcohol and cannabis consumption in the state, as Las Vegas and other casino hubs are trying to protect players from loses while they are intoxicated, as reported by the American press. The Nevada Gaming Control Board could add further regulations regarding the selling of alcohol and marihuana near casinos.
“The recommendations of proposed amendments to the Nevada Gaming Commission Regulation covers new disciplinary action for players under the influence of alcohol or drugs, an update to the definition of the term “payout”, information collection and retention, as well as obligations related to suspicious transactions. There are also proposals to amend aspects of regulations concerning horse racing,” added Gambling Insider.
Meanwhile, the state’s gaming industry continues to grow. Latest figures showed a 7.7 increase to US$1.02 billion year-on-year. The improvement, fuelled by revellers visiting the region to celebrate the Chinese New Year, also meant that income surpassed the US$1 billion mark for the second month in a row for the first time since March-April 2008.
