Nevada registers historic September performance
The gambling industry in Nevada experienced a historic September as it surpassed the US$1 billion mark.
US.- The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) announced this week that the state registered impressive results during September operations. Statewide win surpassed the US$1 billion mark for the fifth time in 2019.
Gaming win totalled US$1.05 billion in September, which is a 6.8% rise when compared to the same month in 2018. It was also the highest September total recorded, the previous record being September 2007. September 2019 was also the fourth in which the state surpassed the US$1 billion mark out of the 45 times that monthly level has been reached, Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
Moreover, September was the fourth straight month this year in which Nevada registers year-over-year percentage increases. This trend comes after five consecutive months where Nevada reported decreases.
Clark County’s win was up US$8.3% to US$913.6 million. The Las Vegas Strip revenue rose 7% to US$584.2 million. Downtown Las Vegas’s percentage win rose 19.9% to US$65.9 million.
Nevada’s slot machine win in September was US$690.2 million, which represents 8.3% more than the same month last year. “The positive trend line that we’re witnessing in slots is being driven by continued increases to volumes which were up 1.4% this month,” said Michael Lawton, senior research analyst for the Control Board. “Slot volumes have increased in seven consecutive months and through September are up 2.1%.”
