Nevada gaming revenue dips in December
Full-year gross gaming revenue in Nevada set a new state record.
US.- The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has reported that the state’s casinos generated $1.44bn in revenue in December. That’s a decrease of 1.5 per cent year-on-year but a rise of 6.9 per cent compared to November. According to the report, the results were primarily affected by a 6.07 per cent decline on the Las Vegas Strip, where the monthly win dropped to $827.7m.
Clark County, which includes the Strip, downtown Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, the Boulder Strip and surrounding areas, generated $1.2bn in revenue, down 2.2 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.
Washoe County, which includes casinos in Reno, Sparks and North Lake Tahoe, generated US$91.3m, up 1.5 per cent. South Lake Tahoe contributed $20.8m, up 7.4 per cent, Elko County $34.88m, up 1.8 per cent, and the Carson Valley Area $11.67m, down 0.5 per cent.
The Las Vegas Strip’s soft performance in December was largely attributed to a decrease in baccarat revenue, which fell 20 per cent in year-on-year terms to $156.4m. The twenty-one win dropped 6 per cent to $71.28m. In contrast, the sports pool win rose by 351.8 per cent to $67.6m, driven by a higher hold percentage and strong activity in mobile wagering.
For full year 2025, Nevada’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) reached $15.8bn. That’s an increase of 1.23 per cent in year-on-year terms. It was the third consecutive year that the state has surpassed the $15bn threshold. Clark County led the state’s annual performance, accounting for $13.69bn of the total win.
Baccarat revenue was $1.44m, up 3.3 per cent year-on-year, twenty-one win was down 10.5 per cent to $1.2m and sports pool revenue was $601k, up 24.7 per cent compared to 2024.
