Nevada regulator details report changes

The gambling regulator from Nevada has announced book wagering report changes that will be effective from October 1.

US.- The Nevada Gaming Control Board’s Enforcement Division (NGCB) has announced new changes that will take effect on October 1, 2019. The regulation modifications are in regards to the submission of Book Wagering Reports, a monthly requirement in Nevada.

The NGCB said that it developed an online site to submit reports at the beginning of October for the previous month’s data. In order to review the system and associated requirements, the board will hold an industry meeting with training sessions on September 24 in the Las Vegas office.

The regulator recommended that licensees that submit Book Wagering Reports attend the meeting in order to learn about the new regulations. “Those involved with the preparation and submission of Book Wagering Reports, representatives of compliance and management responsible for the process, as well as a representative from your Information Technology department should attend,” said the NGCB.

Moreover, the regulator said that it will feature three supporting reporting methods through the site: xml, excel/csv and manual entry. All three methods will be explained at the training session, the gambling regulator said.

Sports betting performance in June

Michael Lawton, senior research analyst for the NGCB, said that sports pools in Nevada won US$16.6 million, down 18.1% on a hold of 5.15% vs. 7.05% last June “Volumes were US$321.8 million, an all-time record for the month of June, which was an increase of US$34.5 million or 12%. Baseball and basketball wagering led the way with increases of US$19.8 million and US$18.7 million, respectively. I believe New Jersey recorded US$273.2 million in handle in June which is US$48.6 million less than Nevada or 17.8% for the same period.”
