Sportsbook operators permitted to offer wagers on esports for the very first time.

US.- The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has given approval for licensed operators to start accepting wagers on the ESL Pro League Season, an esports competition.

In a memorandum. the regulator gave the green light for the state’s 49 licensed bookmakers to accept bets on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive played at the ESL Pro League Season 11: North America. 

All operators who wish to offer these types of wagers are required to contact the NGCB’s Enforcement Division to inform them of which events they will be offering wagers.

According to Asian Gaming Brief, the ESL Pro League Season 11 is expected to run through April 12 with a $219,000 prize pool.

The finals were originally scheduled to be played in Denver, but have now moved to a studio in Europe with the entire competition shown online only.
