NBA set for August return
According to a tweet from The Athletic’s NBA writer, Shams Charania, the league is working “toward restart of play”.
US.- The National Basketball Association is planning to return to action by late July or early August as the country emerges from the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to a tweet from The Athletic’s NBA writer, Shams Charania, the league is working “toward restart of play”.
It said: “The NBA is working on multi-phase medical/safety protocols toward restart of play. Current projections have in-market training camps in July, then camps/scrimmages in Orlando, then resume play late July/early August.”
The suggested location of Walt Disney Resort in Orlando is where teams will play out the remaining fixtures of the season. Many are sceptical, but teams could lose over US$1billion collectively if the season is not finished.
Elsewhere in the US, the NFL has already released its planned fixture schedule for this season, with the league set to kick off in September.
