Monte Carlo rebranded as Park MGM
The Las Vegas facility has been officially rebranded as Park MGM on Wednesday as part of a US$550 million upgrade.
US.- MGM Resorts International announced that the Monte Carlo facility has been rebranded Park MGM on Wednesday. The 3,000-room property located on the Strip started its redeveloping work last month.
The rebrand comes as part of a US$550 million investment to upgrade and rebrand the 22-year old property in order to attract higher-end customers. MGM teamed up with Sydell Group, a boutique hotel developer and manager, in order to help with the upgrade.
Last month, Park MGM’s sign was located up in the 32-story building, while the hotel also started sending emails to its customers advertising the property as Park MGM. Despite moving forward with the name change, construction work is expected to be finished later this year, with the 292-room boutique NoMad Hotel Las Vegas to be reopened later in 2018, as will Eataly and Roy Choi’s restaurant.
Corporate officials said in 2016 – when the rebrand was first announced – that the two new hotels are the final pieces of a multibillion-dollar puzzle designed to reenergize the west side of Las Vegas Boulevard, between the Bellagio and New York-New York. Both properties will be adjacent to The Park, a dining and retail district and to the 20,000-seat T-Mobile Arena.
