Mohegan Sun Pocono kicks off sports betting ops
The Pennsylvanian facility Mohegan Sun Pocono is kicking off its sports betting operations with a soft opening today.
US.- Another facility in Pennsylvania will be offering sports betting services after today. Mohegan Sun Pocono has scheduled a soft opening under the supervision of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) for today and tomorrow.
The soft opening of its sports betting facility comes after a partnership with Kindred Group. The latter is bringing its Unibet Sportsbook brand to the Pennsylvanian casino. This is the second state where the sportsbook is operating, after debuting in New Jersey earlier this year.
The kick-off will take place from 4 pm to midnight and again from 2 pm to midnight on Wednesday. “These test nights under PGCB supervision will allow us to test the software, employee training, our procedures,” said David Parfrey, the VP of Marketing of Mohegan Sun Pocono, Times Leader reported. “We are ecstatic, and I think the patrons are going to love it,” he said.
If the PGCB grants the final approval, Mohegan Sun Pocono will open permanently on Thursday from 11 am to midnight. It is also likely that an online sportsbook will open in the near future.
Mohegan Sun Pocono had applied for a sports betting licence back in March.
