Mohegan Sun Pocono fined by PGCB

The regulator from Pennsylvania set a fine of US$150k against the operator of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs for security issues.

US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) approved this week a US$150k fine against Downs Racing LP. The operator of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs failed to meet the mandated minimum staffing levels of its security staff.

The PGCB said that the fine comes after the board approved an agreement between them and Mohegan Sun Pocono’s operator. The regulator noted that the consent agreement establishes that there were 91 days between January 3, 3019 to April 28 in which the casino failed to meet minimum security staffing requirements.

Current regulations establish a specific number that casinos must meet in order to operate in compliance. Downs Racing violated these regulations in Pennsylvania and must pay a fine of US$150k.

Mohegan Sun Pocono kicked off its sports betting operations

Last week, the facility kicked off its sportsbook operations in partnership with Kindred Group. The latter brought its Unibet Sportsbook brand to the Pennsylvanian casino. This is the second state where the sportsbook is operating, after debuting in New Jersey earlier this year.

The soft opening took place on September 24 under the supervision of the PGCB and continued for another day. The regulator tested the software, employee training and the casino’s procedures before granting the final approval.

The Mohegan Sun Pocono sportsbook is open every day from 11 am to midnight.
