Mississippi sports betting handle decreases in April
The sports betting handle was $24.9m, down 27.5 per cent year-over-year.
US.- The Mississippi Gaming Commission (MGC) has reported that the state’s sports betting handle totalled $24.9m in April, down 27.5 per cent from April 2024. Taxable revenue totalled $3.7m.
The coastal region represented more than half of the total handle at $15.6m. Bets in the Central totalled $6m and those in the Northern region $3.3m. In the Coastal region, basketball was the most popular sport with $4.6m in bets, followed by baseball with $3.6m and parlay cards with $2.9m. Football generated $42,900. Taxes totalled $1.7m.
In the Central region, parlay cards totalled $3m, basketball $2m, baseball $793,154 and football $8,230. In the Northern region, parlay cards totalled $1.3m, basketball $1m, and baseball $747,700.
