Mississippi sports betting handle decreases in December

The handle decreased by 31.9 per cent year-over-year.

US.- The Mississippi Gaming Commission (MGC) has released its sports wagering report for December. The handle totalled $38.8m, down 31.9 per cent year-over-year.

The Coastal region reported $28.5m in bets, representing more than half of the total handle in the state. The Central region generated $7.3m and the Northern region $3m. Taxable revenue totalled $4.4m.

The Coastal region reported $2m in taxable revenue. Football generated a $17.4m handle and $621,634.07 in taxable revenue, basketball $4.1m and $235,453, and parlay cards $2.9m and $924,429.

In the Central region, taxable revenue was $1.7m. Parlay cards generated a $3.4m handle and $1.5m in taxable revenue. Basketball generated a $1.9m handle and $69,307 in taxable revenue, while football generated $1.8m and $128,551.

The Northern region reported $724,057 in taxable revenue. Parlay Cards generated a $1.2m handle and $367,493 in taxable revenue, football $1m handle and $152,987 and basketball $581,519 and $60,652.
