MGM is projecting a Real Estate Investment Trust from which it will create ten real estate properties that gather 24,000 hotel rooms and convention and meeting spaces throughout the US.
US.- Official Board of Directors for MGM Growth Properties –MGP– was published earlier this month by the Resorts International brand. Thomas Roberts –corporate governance consultant– and Michael Rietbrock –expert on gaming industry– were named Independent Directors leading a seven member group formed by them and Dan Taylor –other Independent Director of the company–, Bill Hornbuckle –MGM Resorts President–, John McManus –Executive Vice President–, Jim Murren –Chairman and Chief Executive Officer– and Elisa Gois –Chief Analytics Officer and Senior Vice President of Enterprise Analytics–.
“The announcement, combined with the appointments of James Stewart and Andy Chien, as MGP’s CEO and CFO respectively, underscores the deliberate steps we are taking to create a premier company in this space. MGP’s independent directors and executive team will provide extensive and applicable experience and complement our Board members from MGM Resorts,” commented Jim Murren.
The CEO also highlighted the extended career of both new Independent Directors, not only in the gaming industry, but in finance and Real Estate markets. Their work for now on will be the execution of financial strategies to keep the leading position the brand has in the sector. “They will bring significant relevant experience to the MGP Board that we believe will drive an expertly managed board that will be aligned with shareholder interests and entirely focused on the success of this newly formed company,” concluded Murren.
