MGA sets data-sharing agreement with TIU

The Malta regulator has announced that it has strengthened its relations with the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU).

Malta.- The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has revealed that it is extending its relations with the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU). The regulator established a data-sharing agreement with the TIU, which is the anti-corruption body comprising all professional tennis around the globe.

This agreement paves the way into further strengthening the relationship between the two and hence enhancing prevention and investigation processes surrounding match-fixing and manipulation of sporting events.

The MGA’s Sports Integrity Officer, Antonio Zerafa stated: “The MGA has long held an excellent relationship with the TIU, but this agreement will allow the MGA and the TIU to formalise a structure to share data and information in compliance with the law, for the purposes of detecting, preventing and investigating the manipulation of sports competitions.”

The TIU is responsible for administering the sport’s zero-acceptance policy on betting-related corruption.

MGA sets gaming devices regulation

The MGA has recently issued a Gaming Devices (Exhibition of Gaming Devices) ruling. The measure is in relation to the exhibition of gaming devices in fairs, exhibitions and similar events related to gaming. MGA said that anyone that wishes to use gaming devices for exhibition purposes must submit the form on its website.

After submitting the form, that person or entity must obtain MGA’s approval before being able to exhibit gaming devices. The regulator said that the application can be submitted by hand, post or email.
