Melco proposes VIP rooms in Studio City
Although the gaming hub is going through its 25th month of decline, Melco bets on the enhancement.
Macau.- International casino operator Melco Crown plans to add its first three VIP gaming rooms at the Studio City venue, in Macau. The renowned company is investing in the largest casino hub in the world to recover from the income crisis.
Since the Chinese government announced the strengthening of gaming laws to prevent money laundering and illegal businesses in Macau two years ago, the casino revenues have been in decline. In order to face the crisis, Melco is set to open the luxury rooms in its Studio City casino.
The giant casino operator is expecting to formalise the opening this quarter. Junket operators Suncity Group and Tak Chun Group are among the gaming promoters that will operate these VIP rooms. About the decision, Melco stated: “It will not rule out the possibility of VIP component if we believe that it will result in an improved and more diversified product offering for our customers.”
