Meadowlands Racetrack to launch sports betting service

The New Jersey racetrack announced it will start offering sports betting next July 14th after PASPA got revoked.

US.- Sports betting was recently cleared to be legalised all across the US as the Supreme Court struck the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) and the segment is already about to begin operating in New Jersey. The Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey has announced that next July 14th it will launch its sports betting service, one day earlier than planned.

According to the track’s general manager Jason Settlemoir the inauguration will take place earlier and coincide with one of the venue’s biggest race days, the Meadowlands Pace and one day before the World Cup’s final. Last month, racetrack’s operator Jeff Gural announced the 15th as the starting date but Settlemoir assessed that the change provides a “much better timing.”

Sports betting will be available at the Victory Sports Bar and Club, which will open at 11 am, thanks to the partnership signed with Betfair US. Kip Levin, chief executive of Betfair US, said: “We could not be more excited to partner with Jeff Gural and his partners for sports betting in New Jersey and New York. Meadowlands Racetrack has the potential to be among the best, if not the best, sports betting venues in the US.”
