Martin Stålros, Relax Gaming: “Our role is to provide the stability that lets creativity thrive”

Relax Gaming’s CEO reflects on the company’s goals for SBC Summit 2025 and latest innovations. 

Exclusive interview.- Martin Stålros, Relax Gaming’s CEO, spoke to Focus Gaming News ahead of SBC Summit Lisbon 2025 (September 16-18). In an exclusive interview, he shared the company’s main goals for the expo and the upcoming launches.

Stålros also discussed topics such as personalisation, regulatory changes, product innovation and Relax Gaming’s expansion strategy across LatAm. 

It’s already been a big year for Relax Gaming. What are you excited about sharing at the SBC Summit Lisbon?

It really has been a fantastic year of growth and development, and there’s plenty still to come in the final quarter. We’re especially excited to celebrate the launch of Bill & Coin 2, which will be the theme of our stand in Lisbon. We’re also introducing Bonus Reels, a brand-new bet option that boosts the overall slot experience, keep an eye out as this is landing very soon!

SBC Summit provides a great opportunity to catch up with familiar faces and meet both new and existing partners. We’re looking forward to sharing our plans with some of the biggest names in the industry and giving a sneak peek at what we have cooking for the rest of the year and beyond.

The Dream Drop Jackpot has been popular with players around the world. What’s changed in the new iteration and what made you want to switch things up?

The latest evolution brings three guaranteed Daily Jackpots every single day, adding a fresh layer of excitement and more frequent must-drop moments.

We’ve also fine-tuned the Mega Jackpot with an adjusted must-drop value to create a smoother, more engaging experience. This is a natural next step for a product that’s all about pushing boundaries!

Titles like Groovy Nights have expanded the Dream Drop portfolio. How does this reflect Relax Gaming’s approach to storytelling and innovation?

We have listened to player and partner feedback, and the addition of Daily Jackpots keeps the excitement going around the clock. It builds on what makes Dream Drop one of the most thrilling jackpot experiences on the market by delivering more value, more often, while continuing to lead the way in jackpot innovation.

Behind the scenes, we have a lot of talent that makes Relax so strong at creating successful slots. Every release is carefully planned and timed to get the best response from players and operators.

Q4 will be even more exciting with big Dream Drop titles on the way, including Net Gains Dream Drop in September and Treasure Tumble DD in November.

Relax Gaming entered Brazil and Peru this year. What lessons from these launches are shaping your strategy for expansion in Latin America and other emerging markets?

We are offering language localisation for these emerging markets, and in Peru specifically, we are using Latin America language specifics. Our previous experience in other Latin American countries, such as Colombia, have helped us bring more localised games that are already succeeding in similar markets. Product innovation is key as we enter new regulated markets, where requirements are steadily increasing. 

Regulation has improved transparency, which benefits everyone, especially players, by raising the bar for product quality and customer experience. The main hurdle from a regulatory perspective was the B2B registration, which is similar to a licensing process.

We expect to see more international operators enter Brazil and Peru, along with likely regulatory refinements as governments review how these emerging markets perform.

Your Powered By Relax and Silver Bullet programmes continue to attract studios. How do you balance flexibility and technical consistency?

Powered By Relax gives established studios a quick, straightforward route to market through a single reliable integration, while Silver Bullet gives promising new studios hands-on support with technical expertise, licensing and certification, and direct access to our operator network. 

Both programmes run on the same stable, fully compliant platform, so operators get consistent performance, security and reporting, and partners know their content sits on solid ground. With increasing scrutiny on aggregation platforms, how is Relax Gaming ensuring compliance, responsible gaming, and content integrity across different jurisdictions?

We take a forward-looking approach to compliance, building responsible gaming measures into the platform and monitoring content in real time to protect fairness, safety and integrity wherever we operate. 

We stay ahead of regulatory changes so our platform and all aggregated content meet or exceed local requirements, and we back that up with thorough supplier due diligence and certified RNG testing. Key tools such as self-exclusion and session limits are integrated as standard, and our systems flag irregularities in real time so we can act immediately if needed. By combining foresight with strong operational controls, we give partners and regulators full confidence in the quality and integrity of our offering.
