Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming confirms opening date
It’s Churchill Downs’ eighth gaming venue in Kentucky.
US.- Churchill Downs Incorporated has confirmed that Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming will open on has February 25. The new venue in Calvert City is CDI’s eighth in Kentucky.
The $40m gaming complex will have over 225 historical racing machines (HRMs), simulcast, and sports wagering along with food and beverage options. The company will celebrate the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, with special entertainment and giveaways.
Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming is located at 65 Campbell Drive in Calvert City. CDI received approval from the Calvert City Planning and Zoning Board in December 2024.
Dave McDade, assistant general manager of Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming, said: “All aboard! Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming is officially opening. On February 25, 2026, we’re full steam ahead. We’ll kick things off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, entertainment and plenty of giveaways to get the celebration rolling. From the first whistle to the final stop of the night, we want guests to jump on board, feel the excitement, and enjoy a brand-new destination built for nonstop fun.”
Kentucky’s sports betting handle totalled 333.6m in November. That’s an increase of 11 per cent year-over-year and a decrease of 1.9 per cent from October 2025. According to the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation, revenue was $45.9m, up 27.7 per cent from the same period in 2024. Of the total revenue, online betting generated $44.8m and retail $1.1m.
