Macau GGR to keep growing
New data released shows that June could experience a 22-26 percent increase in gross gaming revenue in Macau.
Macau.- Brokerage Bernstein Research reported that gross gaming revenue (GGR) during the first week of June was US$336 million, a month-to-month ADR to US$84 million, which translates to a 33 percent year-on-year growth.
Bernstein estimates that gross gaming revenue in June will rise to US$2.4 billion, a 22-26 percent increase annually. Last month, the brokerage said that Macau is set to decrease its gaming gross revenue (GGR) during the second quarter of 2017 after relatively good results in the first quarter. Nevertheless, the city is also expected to increase the number 16 percent. During the second half of the year it is expected to reach a 5 to 6 percent increase, which would also represent a 10 percent growth for 2017.
This week, legislators in Macau also approved a bill that is set to ask visitors a declaration of money when they enter the country. The bill would start on the first day of November.
