Louisiana casinos generate $212.5m in July revenue
Casino revenue increased 7 per cent year-over-year in July.
U.S.- Louisiana casinos generated $212.5m in revenue in July, up 7 per cent year-over-year, according to figures released by the Louisiana Gaming Control Board. Sports betting revenue reached $36m from a $280m handle, with the handle up 10 per cent compared with the previous year.
The Lake Charles district remained the state’s largest revenue market, generating $76.8m, up 5.9 per cent. L’Auberge Du Lac led the district with $28.6m, up 17.1 per cent, followed by Golden Nugget Lake Charles with $26.9m, down 0.4 per cent, and Delta Downs with $ 4.2m, up 1.2 per cent.
Shreveport/Bossier City operators generated $50.2m, representing a 2.5 per cent increase. Margaritaville Resort Casino posted $ 2.9m, up 17.5 per cent, Horseshoe Shreveport $11m, down 18.9 per cent, and Live! Casino generated $10.9m, up 15.7 per cent.
The New Orleans district generated $54m, up 11.2 per cent year-over-year. Caesars New Orleans generated $25.9m, up 21.7 per cent, Treasure Chest $14.2m, up 6.9 per cent, and Boomtown Casino & Hotel $7.8m, down 5.2 per cent.
The Baton Rouge district generated $24.6m, an 11 per cent increase. L’Auberge Baton Rouge posted $12.7m, down 4.2 per cent, and The Queen of Baton Rouge $6.7m, down 16.9 per cent. Bally’s Baton Rouge recorded $5.2m, up 549.1 per cent following its move to a land-based property and rebranding earlier this year, and Evangeline Downs $6.8m, up 7.9 per cent.
