Las Vegas visits decrease in December

The city had 38.5m visitors in 2025, down 7.5 per cent year-over-year.

US.- The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) has reported that 3.09 million people visited Las Vegas in December, a decrease of 9.2 per cent year-over-year. There were 38.5m visitors in 2025, down 7.5 per cent compared to 2024.

Hotel occupancy was 76.1 per cent, down 5.8 points year-over-year, and the average daily rate (ADR) was $184, a decrease of 5.1 per cent year-over-year. The weekend occupancy rate was 84.6 per cent, down 4.3 points.

Hotel occupancy on The Strip was 79.1 per cent, down 6.2 points compared to December 2024, while Downtown occupancy was 58.4 per cent, down 8.7 points. Convention attendance was 306,000, up 9.6 per cent.

In 2025, hotel occupancy reached 80.3 per cent, down 3.3 points year-over-year, while weekend occupancy was 88.8 per cent, down 2 points year-over-year. Midweek occupancy was 76.6 per cent, down 3.8 points.

The annual ADR was $184, down 5 per cent year-over-year, and the revenue per available room (RevPAR) was $147, down 8.8 per cent.

The LVCVA said: ” While leisure and international segments saw declines during the year, convention attendance remained resilient as the destination hosted approximately 6.0m convention attendees, nearly matching 2024’s tally.”

The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) reported that the state’s casinos generated $1.44bn in revenue in December. That’s a decrease of 1.5 per cent year-on-year but a rise of 6.9 per cent compared to November. According to the report, the results were primarily affected by a 6.07 per cent decline on the Las Vegas Strip, where the monthly win dropped to $827.7m.
