Las Vegas visits decline in September

The LVCVA reported that 3.09 million people visited the city, down 8.8 per cent year-over-year.

US.- The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) has reported that 3.09 million people visited Las Vegas in September, down 8.8 per cent from 3.38 million in the same month in 2024. Las Vegas convention attendance was 428,400, down 18.7 per cent year-over-year.

LVCVA said the figures reflected in part the absence of the quadrennial MINExpo held in September last year, and the calendar shift for Oracle CloudWorld, which took place in October this year.

According to the report, hotel occupancy was 78.7 per cent, down 5.2 points, and the average daily rate (ADR) was $191, down 2.9 per cent year-over-year. The weekend occupancy rate was 90.3 per cent, down slightly from 90.4 per cent in the same month in 2024, while midweek occupancy was 74.4 per cent, down from 81.1 per cent.

Hotel occupancy on The Strip was 81.3 per cent, down from 87 per cent, while Downtown occupancy was 67.4 per cent, down from 74.1 per cent. The Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport reported 4.45 million passengers. That’s a decline of 6.4 per cent from the same month in 2024.

The LVCVA recently named Dan Hayes as chief operating officer (COO). Hayes will lead the agency’s operations, expansion and renovation initiatives, and oversee its broader operational strategy and planning.
