Las Vegas casinos’ income grew 191%
Income at Las Vegas Strip casinos with an annual GGR of more than U$1 million recorded a 191.4 per cent increase in the fiscal year to June 30.
US.- The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) published the 2017 Nevada Gaming Abstract and revealed that, during the 2017 fiscal year to June 30, Las Vegas Strip casinos with an annual GGR of over US$1 million saw a revenue increase of 191.4 per cent in comparison to the previous year and reached the US$814 million mark.
The year-on-year increase on the area’s large properties reached a 3.9 per cent jump to about US$17.8 billion, while their GGR rose by 3.1 per cent to US$6 billion. However, the contribution to the whole Strip revenues was down 0.2 points to 34 per cent when compared to fiscal year 2016.
Downtown Las Vegas venues in that group saw a net income increase of 111.3 per cent to US$110.3 million from all operations. The total revenue for the area reached US$1.2 billion and rose by 10.3 perc ent, while gaming revenue jumped 11.6 per cent to about US$613.2 million.
When assessing the whole Clark County’s performance, the NGCB revealed that slot machines were the main contributor to casino revenue with 63.4 per cent, followed by table games’ 32.6 per cent. Sports books (2.1 per cent) and poker rooms (0.5 per cent) came in last, according to the information revealed in the Abstract.
