Allwyn appoints Francesco Rodano as group head of responsible gaming
The former Playtech executive will lead player protection across the group’s European and North American markets.
Switzerland.- Allwyn has appointed Francesco Rodano as group head of responsible gaming. Rodano joins after 10 years at Playtech, where he was chief policy officer from June 2016 to December 2024 and then chief sustainable gambling officer, a role that involved the implementation of an award-winning AI-driven behavioural analytics platform.
He previously spent nearly a decade as director of remote gaming at the Italian regulator Agenzia Dogane e Monopoli (ADM).
Robert Chvátal, Allwyn CEO, said: “As Allwyn expands its global presence, being responsible isn’t just how we approach business; it is a key part of who we are and our long-term strength. From how we partner, hire and innovate, to how we make games safer, we embed integrity and care across everything we do. Francesco’s appointment and the experience he brings are another clear commitment to that philosophy.”
Rodano said: “Player protection is something I live and breathe, and I look forward to implementing that passion at scale across Allwyn.”
Allwyn said its lottery businesses all meet Level 4 of the World Lottery Association responsible gaming framework, the highest accreditation available. The company recently named the inaugural recipients of awards from the Allwyn Player Protection Lab. The programme provides up to €100,000 (US$116,000) of funding to research projects focused on new approaches to player safety.
