Landmark is able to add horse racing
The renowned gaming salon was allowed once again to operate horse racing competitions.
US.- Operators of Landmark Recreation Center announced that they have recently added horse racing offerings just in time for the Kentucky Derby. The competitions will start this Saturday, as the huge event is due this weekend. Horse racings will be held at the Hawthorne Race Course in suburban Chicago.
“This is a location that we have looked at for some time, as there was a definite void in the area for those wanting to wager on horses,” stated John Walsh, the Hawthorne assistant general manager. “When we were able to look closer at the location within the Landmark Recreation Center, it was a perfect fit.”
“After nearly 10 years away from the Downtown Peoria scene, off-track wagering has returned with the opening of Club Peoria,” the Hawthorne news confirmed. Landmark is located in Central Peoria, where gaming activities have been offered for the last three decades approximately.
Meanwhile, gaming expansion is pushing its way through legislation in the Senate of Illinois under the “grand bargain” budget, which contains several reforms that have to be approved together. However, Senator Dave Syverson, R-Rockford, affirmed that the Senate would debate a separated gaming bill if the grand bargain was rejected.
