Kindred’s 32Red exits Italy

The operator will concentrate its Italian presence under Unibet.

Italy.- Stockholm-listed Kindred Group has announced it is retiring its 32Red subsidiary from the Italian market to consolidate its presence under its Unibet sportsbook.

It has told customers that 32Red will cease running in the market from November 30.

32Red launched in the Italian market in 2012. The brand was bought by Kindred in 2017 in a move designed to boost its presence in the UK.

Kindred says the move is not related to recent market changes in Italy. The introduction of a temporary new 0.5 per cent turnover tax on all sports betting has seen operators consider withdrawing from the country.

Flutter said it was considering withdrawing its Betfair exchange from the market.

Kindred said: “Kindred remains committed to the Italian market. We are constantly reviewing our brand footprint and wish to provide our customers with the best brand option and experience.”
