Kambi appoints Cecilia Wachtmeister as chief commercial officer
Wachtmeister leads new look commercial team with trio of SVPs also named.
Press release.- Kambi, the world’s leading sportsbook provider, has strengthened its high-performing commercial team with the appointment of Cecilia Wachtmeister as chief commercial officer.
Wachtmeister previously held the role of EVP Business and Group Functions at Kambi, a position she assumed in 2019 upon joining the Kambi’s Executive Management team. Wachtmeister also served on the Kambi Board from 2017-19.
Before joining Kambi, Wachtmeister enjoyed a distinguished 25-year career at telecommunications giant Ericsson AB, where she held a number of senior management roles across functions including business development, sales and strategy.
In her latest role at Kambi, Wachtmeister will lead a strengthened commercial team, with the promotions of Sarah Robertson, Jamie McKittrick and Veena Dhesi to SVP Sales, SVP Commercial Operations and SVP Partner Success respectively.
Dhesi is the latest addition to Kambi’s senior commercial team having joined in 2021 from leading corporate research and advisory firm Gartner, where she spent more than eight years, including in her most recent position as Director, Sales Growth Programs.
Dhesi is joined on Kambi’s senior commercial team by SVP Sales Sarah Robertson, who has more than 10 years’ industry experience, and SVP Commercial Operations Jamie McKittrick, who has worked in sports betting for more than two decades and joined Kambi last year from B2C operator Entain where he was Group Head of Commercial.
Wachtmeister commented: “With a market-leading product and partner-first focus, it’s no surprise Kambi has enjoyed great success in recent years.
“Even though we are on a steep growth trajectory, we’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s possible which is why I’m looking forward to working with my talented commercial team to ensure Kambi can capitalise on the many exciting opportunities that lay ahead.
“It has already been a busy start to the year with the signings of MaximBet and NorthStar Gaming and I am confident we have the right team and product in place to build on this success in 2022 and beyond.”
In January, Kambi entered into a multi-year sportsbook partnership with MaximBet, a sports betting brand owned and operated by Carousel Group, a privately held licensed sports betting and casino operator.
In February, Kambi also struck a long-term partnership with NorthStar Gaming Inc. to provide its high-performance online sportsbook to the Canadian operator.
