Iowa sports betting handle reaches record $182.9m in July
A lower hold means revenue was virtually unchanged year-on-year.
US.- Iowa bettors wagered $182.9m on sports in July 2026, compared with US6.7m a year earlier. Online betting accounted for $173.2m of the total handle, while retail wagering generated $9.7m.
Sportsbooks generated $17.97m in revenue, almost the same as a year prior despite the rise in handle. The hold was 9.82 per cent, down from 12.27 per cent in July 2025. The state collected $1.21m in taxes at its 6.75 per cent rate.
The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission reported $17,967 in July revenue, compared with $17,996 in July 2025, while tax collections fell from $1,215 to $1,213.
