Interest for Japanese IRs rises
Galaxy Entertainment Group held a press conference in Tokyo to present its candidacy for operating a Japan IR.
Japan.- Integrated resorts in Japan are getting closer and companies from all over the globe are trying to get a permit to operate in the archipelago. That’s why Galaxy Entertainment Group’s vice-president of international development, Jeremy Walker, and Patrick Medecin, the ambassador of Monaco, held a press conference in Tokyo to present their case.
Galaxy Entertainment Group not only has “two industry partners” but is also being supported by the Principality, where it’s also working with Société des Bains de Mer (SBM), Monte Carlo casino’s operator. That’s why they assured their offer would be highly attractive for the Japanese market.
“We present here the joint offer of one company, Galaxy, and one company, SBM, but with the back-up of one country that you know. It is Monaco,” the ambassador Medecin said to the press. Mr Walker also added that having two industry partners “is an advantage because it gives [Galaxy] the best of Asia, the best of Europe,” and added: “It really gives us an international footprint that brings something unique to Japan that other operators do not have.”
