Indiana sports betting handle drops in January
The handle was down 14.6 per cent year-on-year.
US.- Indiana’s sports betting handle was $427.1m in January, a year-over-year decline of 14.6 per cent from the record $500.1m in bets taken in January 2022. The handle was down 1 per cent from December’s $431.4m.
According to the Indiana Gaming Commission, operators registered close to $36.5m in adjusted gross revenue, with more than $1.1m added via adjustments. The state received nearly $3.5m in tax receipts, $600,000 lower than December. Indiana has generated more than $86.4m in state tax revenue from sports wagering since the launch in September 2019.
FanDuel was the top sportsbook in Indiana in January with $17.5m in revenue from a $142.3m handle. DraftKings recorded $9.2m in revenue from $139.6m in wagers, BetMGM $3.5m from $38.2m and Caesars Sports $1.3m from $33.5m.
