Indiana approves ownership changes
The local gaming commission approved Caesars and other three companies’ request for ownership changes.
US.- The Indiana Gaming Commission has revealed that it approved deals that allow four casinos to move forward with ownership changes. The total worth for the four casino acquisitions is US$4.5 billion.
Caesars Entertainment’s US$1.7 billion acquisition of Indianapolis-based Centaur Gaming and its Hoosier Park and Indiana Grand horse racing casinos were approved Thursday. Caesars Entertainment’s President and CEO Mark Frissora said: “We are pleased that the Horse Racing Commission and the Gaming Commission have given us the approvals we need to allow for a smooth transfer of ownership of Indiana Grand and Hoosier Park”
Moreover, the commission also approved Penn National Gaming’s purchase of Pinnacle Entertainment, owner of Belterra Casino Resort in Switzerland County and Ameristar Casino in East Chicago in a deal worth US$2.8 billion. As part of Pinnacle and Penn’s deal, Boyd Gaming is also acquiring Belterra.
“We appreciate the diligent work of the Indiana Gaming Commission in their review and approval of our proposed transaction. We look forward to securing additional regulatory approvals in the near term and remain on schedule to complete the transaction in the second half of this year,” Timothy J. Wilmott, Chief Executive Officer of Penn National Gaming. said.
