India State approves iGaming

Nagaland’s residents will be able to play games of skill on online platforms.

India.- Last Friday 16, Nagaland government announced the launching of its first game of skill license by implementing the recent Nagaland Prohibition of Gambling and Promotion and Regulation of Online Games of Skill Act 2016.

Nagaland approved an online poker website and granted the first license to M/s K365 Web Assets Pvt. Ltd., the company that runs the gaming platform khelo365.com. The governmental Nagaland State Lotteries, which grants licenses, is assessing ten more projects that could be authorised during the following weeks.

“This is a huge boost to the skill gaming industry and has tremendous future in India,” expressed Club Empire Tech Pvt. Ltd.’s founder and director, Swapnil Chaturvedi. Club Empire Tech may be the second authorised poker operator and currently runs an online rummy website in the State, due to a Letter of Intent to manage the service.
