iGaming revenue in Delaware drops 18 per cent

Delaware Lottery reported that its licensed iGaming operators saw a revenue drop of 18 per cent during last year.

US.- Delaware Park, Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway, Delaware’s only three licensees authorised to take online wagers saw a revenue drop during 2017. According to the Delaware Lottery, all of them combined reported a total US$2.4 million income, which was 18 per cent lower than 2016’s.

According to the report, video lottery was the top performer in the online gaming segment despite experiencing a 10 per cent revenue drop to US$1.6 million. It couldn’t avoid the iGaming trend as online table games income dropped 28 per cent year-on-year (560k) and internet poker followed with a 48 per cent slump (231k).

Despite being one of the only three US states to have a legal online gambling (next to New Jersey and Nevada), the industry is expecting to expand as the US Supreme Court will likely revoke the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 (PASPA) and expand the iGaming segment nationwide.
