US.- WynnBET, the online sports betting and igaming app from Wynn Resorts, has announced Ian Williams as president of Wynn Interactive. In October, the 20-year gaming industry veteran was named chief operating officer (COO), managing WynnBET’s trading, marketing, customer service, payments, and data science teams.

Williams previously worked as president of online gaming for Churchill Downs, where he contributed to the development of the Churchill Downs Interactive division. A graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University, he has 17 years of experience as a C-level executive in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Wynn Resort recently announced that CEO Matt Maddox was stepping down from his role on January 31, with Craig Billings, CEO of Wynn Interactive to replace him. The chairman of Wynn´s board of directors, Phil Satre, has said Maddox wanted to explore opportunities outside of gaming.

In early November, WynnBet was approved for sports betting licence in New York as part of the group led by Kambi.
