Hollywood Casino Joliet opens in Illinois

The land-based property replaces the riverboat that operated since 1992.

US.- Penn Entertainment has celebrated the opening of Hollywood Casino Joliet in Illinois. The $185m land-based property replaces the riverboat casino that had operated on the shores of the Des Plaines River since 1992.

The new casino features approximately 1,000 slot machines, 43 table games, and a ESPN Bet sportsbook, which includes a restaurant and a bar. Dining options include Sorellina by Giada, Boulevard Food & Drink Hall, Red Lotus Asian Kitchen, and &Vine, and an event center.

Legislators, Illinois Gaming Board officials, Chicago Bears executives, and NFL legend and Joliet native Tom Thayer participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony

Jay Snowden, CEO and president of Penn Entertainment, said: “We would like to officially welcome players and guests to the all-new Hollywood Casino Joliet.
