GRID snaps up Bayes Esports assets

Bayes Esports filed for insolvency last month.

US.- The game data platform provider GRID has announced its acquisition of the intellectual property assets of B2B esports data company Bayes Esports. The move comes after Bayes filed for insolvency.

According to the announcement, the assets include live data trading solutions, prediction models and fan engagement tools developed by Bayes Esports over the last ten years. GRID intends to integrate these into GRID Bet, its esports betting solution.

Moritz Maurer, GRID’s founder and CEO, said: “The acquisition of Bayes assets further accelerates GRIDs capabilities to create value for rights holders in esports and shape the next phase of esports betting in particular.”

Founded in 2019, Bayes Esports was a major name in esports data, working with esports and gambling stakeholders to provide official match data for various platforms. However, it filed for insolvency at the start of August.

Meanwhile, GRID has been growing into one of the biggest esports data providers, working with several tournament operators. In October 2024, it signed a multi-year deal to add data from BLAST’s Counter-Strike and Dota 2 tournaments. As well as its betting product, GRID Bet, it launched GRID Insights in June, an AI-powered analytics product for integrating esports insights into broadcasts.
