US.- GGPoker has announced that poker star Jason Koon has joined the company as its newest global ambassador. The announcement was made at the 2021 World Series of Poker Reunion, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Born in West Virginia, Koon is one of the top players in the world. Having cashed for $32.5m in live tournaments, he figures in the top ten of all-time winnings.
As an ambassador, Koon will strengthen the poker room’s security and game integrity efforts, as well as acting as an advocate for high roller, VIP and high-volume players.
John Scanlon, director of sponsorships and live Events at GGPoker, said: “We view ambassadors as part of our overall team. We want them as bought into keeping GGPoker the number one site in the world as we are.
“Jason’s reputation and how he handles himself personally and professionally makes him an ideal global ambassador. Having a player of his calibre providing advice and direction, and representing the most committed segment of our player community, is invaluable for us.”
Koon added: “I’m really excited to join GGPoker, particularly so soon after they’ve taken a leading role in the poker world.
“I’m also thrilled to be in a position to help with game security and player advocacy, making GGPoker an even better place to play our favorite game.”
