Georgia pushes for legalised gambling

Georgia could soon legalise gambling in order to generate extra dollars for state coffers. The segment seems to be closer than ever thanks to a push in the House of Representatives.

The Lower House formed a new Economic Development Committee to assess economic issues in local communities. Gambling seems to be the top solution to solve financial problems in Georgia. It would include casinos, horse racing and sports betting to take place in the state.

“We have the honour to not only grow the economy in this community,” said Sandra Roose, with the Valdosta-Lowndes County Conference Center and Tourism Authority. “But also improve the quality of life through business revenues and the local taxes that we drive. That, in turn, goes to our community and benefits our citizens.”
