BCLC approves Gateway casino in Delta
The Delta Cascades Casino project has been approved by British Columbia’s gambling regulator.
Canada.- The Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Ltd casino project to be developed in Delta has finally been approved by the British Columbia Lottery Commission (BCLC). The construction of the 500-slot machine casino received the final green light needed and will begin early in 2019.
The gaming venue will be developed in the city of Delta under the name of Cascade Casino Delta and will be located on the old Delta Town & Country Inn site. It was the only suitable site, according to the city council, which provided its approval in May, as it’s far from residential neighbourhoods and close to major transportation corridors.
After the BCLC approved the project, Gateway can begin the demolition work on the site in order to open the venue around mid-2020. In addition to the 500 slots, it will host 24 table games and six electronic table games and it will have a 124-room hotel, restaurants and meeting space built within the site.
The project is worth €47 million and will provide up to 700 new jobs in Delta, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Ltd said.
