GamingMalta Foundation aims to vaccinate workers in Malta’s gambling sector.

Malta.- The non-profit GamingMalta Foundation has launched a vaccination drive that aims to ensure that workers in the island’s gambling sector are vaccinated against Covid-19.

The foundation, which is run by the Maltese government and the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), has launched a scheme to allow all employees in the sector to access a vaccine booking schedule.

Some businesses will also have on-site vaccinations under the scheme.

The MGA said: “In line with existing initiatives by local health authorities towards reaching herd immunity as rapidly as possible, both entities are currently assisting the local gaming industry towards Covid-19 vaccination of their respective personnel by coordinating a bespoke service for the sector.”

Last month the MGA promoted Ryan Pace to chairman of the regulator’s board. Pace had been deputy chairman since last June.

Malta has recorded no deaths related to Covid-19 since May 7. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the island has recorded 30,480 cases of Covid-19 and 417 deaths.
